Demystifying the myths around Dermatoglyphics test

Whether it is Homeopathy or age old Ayurveda medicine or  Acupressure technique, all of these alternative medicine techniques have been questioned or countered by competitive alternatives particularly the conventional medicine or Allopathy school of thought.
Everyone has a right to cite their views, but it becomes contentious when these opinions are given without background research and topical understanding of the alternative. Much is talked about Dermatoglyphics science as well in the media.
Here is an attempt to demystify the myths around Dermatoglyphics multiple intelligence analysis also known as DMIA (or DMIT)

Fact 1: DMIA technique is scientific and not any ill-conceived idea
Several hypotheses around personality and behavir patterns have been validated through longitudinal study of fingerprints over several decades. Dermatoglyphics and its relation to health and personality are documented in century old books by leading researchers.
Few references below confirm Fact 1.
Sir Francis Galton (1892) conducted extensive research on the significance of skin ridge patterns, not only to demonstrate their permanence but also their use as a means of identification. Schaumann and Alter's (1976) published a book 'Dermatoglyphics in Medical disorders' which summarizes the findings of dermatoglyphic patterns in various disease conditions (1). Engler et al (1982) conducted a study on patients with breast cancer and concluded that the presence of six or more whorls on the fingertips of a person provided a high risk for breast cancer

Fact 2:  DMIA is not fortune telling or astrology but a robust technique using computer program based on algorithms
DMIA is about knowing the natural inborn traits and capability potential so that one can act based on the counseling guidance for future improvement.
This technique is based on the premise that, 'every individual can create his or her future if the inborn capability potential is known'

Fact 3:  Fingerprints are permanent. The test report from DMIA tool if conducted for a person at age 5 and again at age 75 will be exactly same

Fingerprint patterns are the fundamental input for determining the innate traits, capability potential. Since fingerprint patterns do not change in a lifetime, the report is bound to be the same

Fact 4: DMIA test ought to be as early as possible in your life to gain maximum advantage
This test can be done at any age from new born baby till grown up adults. However earlier is better, since recognizing capability potential and personality type earlier in life may be helpful  for the parent and child.  Toddlers, teenagers, youngsters, adults, couples, schools, corporates, psychologists, counselors can generate their customized report for exploring possible future course of actions

Fact 5:  Counseling industry is expanding and there are several ill-equipped Dermatoglyphics firms that have come up in the country which may not be doing justice to the efficacy of the technique
Parents and children need to be wary of untrained and ill-equipped firms who claim to be Dermatoglyphics trainers or experts
